How long does it take for a jigger dyeing machine to reset after an overload?

Feb 16, 2026

Factors affecting reset time:

1. Overload protector type:

Mechanical thermal relay: Relies on a bimetallic strip that bends to cut off power. It automatically resets after cooling, typically taking a few minutes to over ten minutes.

Electronic protector: Relies on circuit detection. It may require manually pressing the "reset" button or powering off and restarting. Resets faster, but the fault must be cleared first.

2. Severity and duration of overload:

The more severe the overload or the longer the duration, the higher the protector temperature, and the longer the cooling and reset time.

3. Ambient temperature and heat dissipation:

High ambient temperature or poor heat dissipation will prolong the reset time.

Reset operation and precautions:

1. Manual reset: After the protector cools down, press the reset button (some models require a tool).

2. Automatic reset: The thermal relay automatically resets after cooling, requiring no operation.

3. Key Reminder: Before resetting, be sure to eliminate the cause of overload (such as mechanical jamming, excessive tension), otherwise overload may occur again after resetting.

Recommendations:

1. Prevention is key: Regularly maintain the equipment, check the transmission system and tensioning device to avoid overload.

2. Record and analyze: Record the overload time and resetting details, analyze the patterns, and optimize operation.
