What are the common causes of fabric jamming in overflow dyeing machines?

1. Improper mechanical operation: Loading materials hastily after changing fabric types without adjusting components like the return valve or nozzle; closing the machine door and adding chemicals before the fabric has run smoothly for 3–5 minutes; these actions directly trigger mechanical jamming.
2. Incompatibility with fabric characteristics: Lightweight, high-density fabrics (such as Pongee or Polyester Taffeta) tend to float on the liquid surface; without using a full-overflow mode or adding de-aerating agents to remove trapped air from the fibers, the fabric easily knots and jams.
3. Delayed inspection and response: Operators fail to continuously monitor the fabric's status inside the machine; failing to activate the reverse-flush clearing mechanism at the onset of a jam allows the obstruction to worsen, eventually resulting in a severe jam that is difficult to clear.
4. Abnormal dye bath foaming: Insufficient defoamer usage, poor foam suppression, or excessive water hardness leads to heavy foaming in the dye bath; this triggers "air locking" (gas entrapment), ultimately causing the fabric to jam.
